What are respite days?

Respite Days at Camp Innabah provide individuals with intellectual disabilities an opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled, enriching day in a supportive and inclusive environment. Each Tuesday, campers participate in a variety of engaging activities, including group games, crafts, outdoor exploration, and time to connect with others.

Our experienced and caring staff ensures every camper feels welcomed and supported, tailoring the experience to meet their unique needs. Whether exploring the beauty of Camp Innabah’s grounds or enjoying a delicious lunch prepared by our team, every moment is designed to create joy, build confidence, and foster meaningful connections.

Meet the program director: WENDY!

Wendy brings decades of experience and a deep passion for creating meaningful camp experiences. She has served as a Program Director since 1992 and first discovered Camp Innabah as a camper herself in 1977. Wendy officially joined the year-round staff in 2015 as the Kitchen Manager but has always had a heart for connecting with campers and ensuring they feel loved, included, and like they truly belong.

As she prepares for Respite Days, Wendy is excited to welcome campers into an engaging and supportive environment filled with fun activities, outdoor exploration, and moments of connection. Whether it’s joining in on a wagon ride or sharing stories around the campfire, Wendy loves creating moments that campers will treasure.

Outside of camp, Wendy enjoys spending time with her kids, crocheting, teaching dance, and even chasing thrills on roller coasters! Her warmth, creativity, and dedication make her the perfect leader for Respite Days.

Challenge Camp is the highlight of the year for our family. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure every camper feels included and valued. It’s a place where our daughter can be herself, make friends, and try new things in a safe and loving environment.” – Parent of a Challenge Camper
